ECG Interpretation for Beginners
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The use of ECG as a diagnostic and monitoring tool is commonly seen in critical care and high dependencyunits. The information gained from an ECG can be very valuable in providing care to acutely ill patients. In order to do this, however the nurse must be skilled in ECG interpretation. This half day workshop is designed to develop the theoretical knowledge of electrocardiography as well as clinical skills in assessing and systematically interpreting a rhythm strip and twelve lead ECG.

the care of the patient undergoing electrocardiography.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You will gain the knowledge and skills to be able to:
- Describe the cardiac conduction system as it relates to the ECG recording
- Demonstrate ability to systematically interpret a single-lead rhythm strip
- Demonstrate ability to systematically interpret a 12 Lead ECG
- Outline clinical application of information gained from ECG recordings.
